In response to your query regarding current musical tastes, a brief, yet knowledgeable account of the ongoing musical climate is needed for a full grasp on the subject.

Currently, the ‘Y Generation’ spans across individuals born after 1985, we are known as the Internet generation and being such our age group has the ability to span our musical tastes across a broad, infinite spectrum. The Internet, also known as the world wide web, allows individuals to search the ‘interweb’ for whatever one may be interested in. For example, if one wants to find out more about A Tribe Called Quest they could type google.com into their browser and be directed to several outlets, including Wikipedia.org, which is currently the most reliable online Encyclopedia for the ‘Y Generation.’
Another outlet that the Internet provides is the ability to download and discover different forms of music. Sites such as Pandora.com and programs like Bit Torrent are helpful in providing the general public with the types of music they are interested in and because of sites like this, the ‘Y Generation’ is considered to be knowledgeable in a wide variety of musical tastes.
